Our Wheat Bag Teddy Bears make a perfect gift for a child who needs a bit of winter snuggling!

Winter comes cold weather, runny noses and a desire to be snuggled up, toasty and warm.  Not only are these wheat bags good in cold weather, but heat therapy is known to help with various ailments including sore stomach, growing pains, sore muscles or just having a cold. Just pop the bear in the microwave for around a minute and your child will have a warm, fluffy companion to cuddle up with.

Our Wheat Bag Teddy Bears are not just a regular flat rectangle wheat bag, but are designed to be appealing to children with its cute bear design and a choice of 12 bright colours. Our son calls his Wheat Bag his “Warm Bear”. He loves cuddling it once it’s come out of the microwave and is all toasty. But, they can also be used as an ice pack if kept in the freezer which is perfect for any boo boos or on a hot summer’s day to cool down. The benefit of using a Wheat Bag is that it is easily moulded to suit whatever you are trying to warm up, or cool down.

Each Wheat Bag Teddy Bear is individually and sewn by hand. All designs are close to consistent, but as with any handmade product, no two are alike. With each order I will send instructions and safety information to help you get the most out of your Wheat Bag Teddy Bear.

WHEN USED HOT:

A warm wheat bag is so comforting in the cold winter weather. But there are also ways it helps to naturally relieve pain too! They are so handy when your child has a sore tummy, growing pains, feeling unwell, muscle tension or general aches and pains. Just warm the Wheat Bag Teddy Bear in the microwave and it is a great size to be used in various positions on the body. 

WHEN USED COLD:
Stored in the freezer, this wheat pack makes a perfect cool pack for any bumps, bruises, swelling or headaches your little one may have. I have always struggled to keep ice packs on my son previously, but having this fluffy teddy is much more appealing! Unlike ice, wheat does not become rigid when frozen and is still able to be moulded to fit around an injury.

SIZE

Each Wheat Bag Teddy Bear weighs at least 500g and measures 20-25cm in height depending on how you spread the wheat out inside the bear. It has a circumference of around 30-32cm around the widest part.

INSTRUCTIONS:

To use warm:

1. Place the Wheat Bag Teddy Bear standing up in the microwave. (Can be microwaved from the freezer.)
2. Heat for around 45 seconds to 1 minute. Time will vary depending on your microwave.
3. Test the bottom of the wheat bag on your own bare skin before giving it to a child.
4. If it needs to be warmer, heat in 10 or 20 second intervals until you reach the desired temperature.

To use cold:

1. Place Wheat Bag Teddy Bear in a sealed plastic bag.
2. Leave in the freezer overnight or keep it permanently ready for use.

SAFETY:

• Each microwave will be slightly different so check the wheat bag after 45 seconds and increase the time if needed until you reach the desired temperature.
• Only an adult should warm the wheat bag.
• Overheating the wheat bag can cause burns. Heating for longer than 2 minutes can cause the wheat to cook.
• Check temperature on an adult’s bare skin before giving it to a child. It should be warm but never hot.
• Supervise children when using the wheat bag to avoid them overheating.
• Not suitable for infants - recommended for over 18 month olds but use your own discretion about the correct age for your child.
